Everyone loves Pancake Day – including your pooch! If you want to include your four-legged friends in the festivities, this quick and easy dog pancake recipe is the perfect way to do just that. It’s so simple and delicious, it makes the perfect treat to end a Shrove Tuesday walk.
Bear in mind that this recipe makes one pancake, which should be more than enough for one dog. You don’t want to treat them too much, after all! If you have two or more dogs, simply adjust the quantities as required.
Dog Pancake Ingredients
- 50g plain flour
- 1 egg
- 100ml water
- Your dog’s favourite topping – this could be peanut butter (make sure it doesn’t contain artificial sweeteners like xylitol as these are toxic to dogs), low-salt bacon, or dog chocolate!
Method
- Whisk the egg, flour, and water in a bowl
- Heat a frying pan to a medium temperature
- Spread the mixture into your pre-heated frying pan. If you’re feeling creative, you can spread it into a pawprint or any other shape you like!
- Cook for 30 seconds on each side. Hope you’re good at flipping!
- Let the pancake cool down to a safe temperature and add your toppings
- Serve with a smile – your pup will really appreciate it!
